Area 1: Human Resource Management:
- Human Resource Strategies (MBA course, CSUN). Covers major human resource theories, concepts, practices and related skills. Examination of the interaction between organizations and their political, social, economic and technical environments. Issues of ethical and social responsibility are examined.
- Human Resource Strategy (undergraduate course, CSUN). The theme of this course is gaining a competitive advantage in business organizations using strategic human resource management practices. This course will help students understand the current strategic human resource management practices being utilized in the modern workplace.
- Employment Practices (undergraduate course, CSUN). Analyzes how, why and the procedures involved, in recruiting, retaining, evaluating and managing employees in light of current issues and trends in the legal and socio-demographic environment.
- Training and Development (master’s level course, MSU). Planning, developing, delivering, and evaluating employee training and development.
- Staffing (master’s level course, MSU). Provides comprehensive review of human resource planning, equal employment opportunity, staffing, training and development, compensation and benefits, workforce diversity and organizational development
Area 1: Human Resource Management:
- Leadership, Power and Politics (undergraduate course, CSUN). Concentrates on the ability of individuals to lead others in important undertakings, including the management of organizations, the management of large-scale change and the resolution of complex problems.
- Principles of Management (large class, undergraduate course, CSUN). Introduction to the basic concepts in management and organizational behavior. Applies these concepts to the management of people and resources toward the accomplishment of organizational goals. Emphasis is on the organizational applications of behavioral science concepts, interpersonal skills and team building.
- HR Leadership (master’s level course, MSU). Created and delivered new course for department. Course involves comprehensive review of leadership theories and literature and applying these in evaluating leaders and understanding effective HR leadership.
